Kerta Gosa is a tourist attraction located in the middle of the city of Klungkung Regency, Bali, about 30km from KTS Bali. The Kerta Gosa building is part of the Klungkung royal building complex, which was built in 1686 by the first power holders Ida I Dewa Agung Jambe. Kerta Gosa is an open-air tourist place which is included in the Semarapura kingdom. The tourist attraction of Kerta Gosa consists of two buildings (bale), namely Bale Kertagosa and Bale Kambang. Called Bale Kambang because the building is surrounded by a pond, namely Taman Gili. The uniqueness of the Kerta Gosa in Klungkung is also the building of Bale Kambang. It is on the ceiling or bale ceiling decorated with traditional paintings (puppet style) that depict the cases being tried, as well as the types of penalties to be received, if they make a mistake. The function of the two buildings is closely related to the function of education through puppet paintings, the story is presented on the ceiling of the building. Existing puppet paintings in the ceiling of the building of Kerta Gosa are the classic works of Kamasan puppet art style, even today Kamasan village still preserves this traditional painting style.
